Crisis Intake and Counseling Services

What Does the Crisis Intake Program Do?

Provides 24-hour crisis counseling to youth and their families to keep the family together and help keep the youth out of the juvenile justice system. Services are free to the youth or family.

Who is Eligible ?

Any youth (age 8-17) who resides in Salt Lake County who is having family problems, has run away, is beyond the control of his parents or committed other status offenses, i.e., truancy, curfew, alcohol, smoking.

How do I Access the Service?

Call 269-7500 for an appointment. Walk-in appointments are available for crisis situations. Contact your local law enforcement to assist with your runaway or ungovernable youth.

What is a Status Offense?

Running away from home, continually skipping school, using tobacco and alcohol, violating curfew, acting beyond the control of their parents.

What are the Costs to Clients?

Services are free to the family or child for these services.
