What Does the Childrens Justice Center Do ?
Provides coordinated services for children and their families during child abuse investigations. Crisis intervention, forensic interviews in child friendly interview rooms, trained interviewers, specialized medical exams by Primary Children's Medical Center staff housed on-site, and advocacy services.
Who is eligible for services?
Children ages 17 and under and their family members who are involved in an investigation of child abuse and are not the alleged offender. Adult victims with disabilities are also served. Types of cases include:
- Sexual abuse
- Physical abuse
- Domestic violence involving child witnesses
- Child witness to homicide
- Kidnapping and abductions
- Shaken baby syndrome
- Drug endangerment child abuse
Is there a fee for services?
All services are free to the public.
How do I report Child Abuse?
Please call the Division of Child and Family services Child Abuse Hotline 801 281-5151, open 24 hours a day.
It is also very important to contact the police department where the crime occurred. If you are not sure, call your local police department.
